Farewell To Cpl. Daegan Page

By Karla James Sep 17, 2021 | 4:19 PM

A Nebraska Marine killed August 26th in the suicide bombing of the Kabul airport in Afghanistan was laid to rest today. Corporal Daegan Page was remembered as a hero who died while trying to help others.

The Rev. Suzanne Howe spoke at Friday’s funeral and said, “Daegan did nothing half-heartedly. He did everything with love. He left nothing on the table and gave it all.”

Funeral services for Page were held this morning at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millard. Hundreds of people lined the eight mile procession route from the church to the Omaha National Cemetery in Sarpy County. Page was born in Omaha and grew up in Red Oak, Iowa before moving with his family back to Omaha.

Page was one of 13 U.S. military members killed in the attack.
