Lincoln Police were notified around 6 p.m. Monday, September 13th of an incident at the Lincoln Northeast High School homecoming dance on Friday.
A 16 year old girl and her mother called police to report a possible narcotics violation. The teen said she left a drink unattended for an unknown amount of time. She returned to find that the liquid had been discolored and some of the drink was missing. The student consumed some of the drink and began to feel ill. These effects, that included nausea, exhaustion and altered levels of consciousness, lasted into the next day.
The student did not see anyone put anything into any drinks at the dance. Neither school staff or the Lincoln Police Officer at the dance were notified.
The Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Public Schools will continue to work together to investigate these accusations and the investigation is ongoing.
