Lincoln Police are looking for a suspect after a man was slashed with a machete early Tuesday morning. Shortly after 1:00 a.m. two men were drinking on the sidewalk of the 1000 block of G Street when an unknown man approached them.
The man started yelling and swearing at them and pulled out a machete. LPD says the suspect started swinging the machete and slashed a 56 year old man on his right wrist. Additional cuts were also found to his left leg and back. The man who was not cut called for an ambulance and was able to convince the suspect to leave.
Neither the victim nor his friend recognized the suspect. The victim was treated at a local hospital, but his injuries are non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
