There were no serious injuries in a high speed crash late Monday night near 36th & Vine. LPD says when officers arrived around 11:30 p.m. a Toyota Yaris was upside down on Vine St.
Witnesses indicated both vehicles had been traveling westbound on Vine St approaching 36th St. The Toyota Yaris had been traveling westbound on Vine St at speeds estimated between 100mph-120mph, before it slammed into the rear of the Hyundai Accent and flipped.
The Yaris also struck two mailboxes and a lightpole on Vine St. LPD says fortunately both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and resulted in only minor injuries.
The 20-year-old male driver of the Toyota Yaris treated at a local hospital and cited and released for Willful Reckless Driving.
