A Lincoln Police Officer is recovering after he was involved in a crash at 42nd and Orchard around 8:00 Saturday night. Officer Erin Spilker says the 22 year old officer’s cruiser collided with a Toyota Camry in the intersection, which has no stop signs or traffic signals.
Spilker says the officer was northbound on N. 42nd Street when the eastbound Camry collided with the cruiser in the intersection. After impact, the Camry continued northbound and collided with a house in the 1200 block of N 42nd St and also struck a black Ford F150 parked in the driveway.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and treated and released for an arm injury. The Camry was a total loss while the cruiser has an estimated $3,500 worth of damages. There was about $1,000 damage to the house.
