Nebraska welcomed home fallen Corporal Daegan Page Friday afternoon. Page was born in Omaha but grew up in Red Oak, Iowa and then moved back later to Omaha through high school  He joined the Marines following graduation.

Page died in a suicide bombing at the Kabul airport on August 26th. That bombing killed 12 other service members and about 170 Afghans.

A plan carrying Page’s body arrived at Eppley Airfield around 1:30 Friday afternoon.
Large U.S. flags were hung from construction equipment along the procession route from Eppley Airfield to the funeral home at 144th and Harrison in Millard.

Thousands of people with flags lines the streets from the airport to I-480 near the CHI Center and again from L Street to the funeral home. Even with the large crowd, no noise was made as the procession drove by. There was a cheer from the crowd after Page’s body was taken into the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 17th.
