Lincoln Police say a running SUV that was stolen Monday night when the driver got out to search for a dog that was running in the street has been found.
The 26-year-old woman reported her blue 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe had been stolen from the 300 block of S. 27th Street around 9:30 p.m. The SUV was gone when she returned about fifteen minutes later. Officer Erin Spilker says around 6:00 Tuesday night a passerby called police after spotting a vehicle in a soybean field near 95th and Fletcher Ave.
The vehicle was determined to be the one stolen in this case. Officers processed the vehicle for evidence, however, the woman purse, laptop, cell phone and loaded .380 handgun were all missing.
