Lincoln Police are investigating an auto theft. They were called to the 300 block of S 27th Street around 9:30 p.m. Monday. A woman reported her 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe had been stolen.
She had seen a dog running in the street and stopped to look for it. The SUV was left running, unlocked with the hazard lights on. She returned to the vehicle 15 minutes later and it was gone.
The woman’s purse, cell phone and laptop were in the SUV along with a loaded .380 handgun. The vehicle is valued at $10,000.
