A Lincoln man is behind bars after police say he threatened two women with a knife near 14th and South streets on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Erin Spilker says the women were working at a house in the area when they went out to put trash in the dumpster.  “They were approached by a man who asked for a cigarette.  When they declined his request he pulled out a knife, held it up and started walking toward them.”

The women then went back inside and called police.  Responding officers found 45 year old Hank Arkulari Jr. in the area and arrested him.   Spilker says they searched him and found two knives along with 10 credit cards and two Nebraska IDs that had  been stolen.

He was booked for two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony and felony criminal possession of a financial transaction device.
