Bryan Health is making changes to surgery protocol.
This last week, Bryan Health has experienced a record volume of patients, including rapidly expanding COVID-19 inpatients. Bryan Health tells KLIN News, hospital leadership and medical staff have made the decision to limit elective surgeries.
Bryan Health they will release more details during a news conference on Thursday.
KLIN News has also learned the suspension does not apply to outpatient surgeries and procedures that do not require an overnight hospital stay. Elective surgeries already scheduled will go on as planned. However, doctors are encouraged to review those cases to determine if they can be safely postponed.
Urgent and emergency surgeries will continue.
