Dozens Of Stolen Checks, Credit Cards Recovered

Lincoln Police were called to 1901 West O Street around 3 Monday afternoon to investigate a burglary in progress. The caller told police there were two people breaking into a storage unit.

Officers found 25 year old Arnold Ngrezaho and 19 year old Torrien Harris at that location. Police contacted the renter of the unit who said no one had permission to enter or remove items.

Officers then looked inside Ngezaho and Harris’ vehicle and the renter identified a number of items that had been taken from the storage unit. Officers conducted a search and found a syringe with methamphetamine residue and other drug paraphernalia inside a bag belonging to Harris.

A backpack belonging to Ngezaho was searched and inside was a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and 4 Hydrocodone pills. They also found a large amount of stolen financial transaction devices including 42 credit cards, 28 checks, 11 ID cards, 7 social security cards, 3 birth certificates and counterfeit $20 bills. Nine of the checks had been written out to Ngezaho for a total of $3,119.85 and the others were blank. Officers also found burglary tools inside the vehicle.

When police first spoke with Ngezaho, he provided a false identity. He was booked for burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a financial transaction device, criminal impersonation, 2nd degree forgery, criminal possession of a blank financial transaction device, possession of a forged instrument, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
