Cocaine Supplier Arrest As Police Investigate Overdose Cases

One arrest has been made that could be connected to recent overdoses involving cocaine. The Lincoln – Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on a home at 19th and Knox Street just before midnight Monday. A person who recently overdosed provided police with information on where they had purchased the drug.

In the basement, police found 14.5 pounds of cocaine divided into three baggies, 31.5 lorazepam pills, 2 oxycodone pills and $5,500 in cash. 38 year old Brandon Davis was booked for possession with intent to deliver, possession of money while violating a drug law and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Police searched a bedroom and found a rifle and double edged sward. 43 year old Vaughn Newman is a convicted felon and prohibited for possession weapons.

A woman present at the time was not charged.

Police want the public to be informed that if cocaine was purchased at the location it may be deadly. There were four overdose cases Monday night. All were in the same home and given Narcan. There were five overdoses Sunday. An 18 year old man at 27th and P Street died. The four others were also given Narcan and continue to recover.
