A arrest is made in the hit-and-run accident on August 6th that injured a motorcyclist. That accident happenedĀ at 27th and Tamarin Ridge Road. The motorcyclist fell from bike and was run over by a dark colored SUV. The motorcyclist was seriously hurt and continues to recover.
A bumper from the SUV had been left at the accident site and it was determined it belonged to a 2021 Jeep Cherokee.
On Friday, August 13th around midnight, officers found an SUV missing the front bumper in the parking lot of Grata Bar at 2755 Jamie Lane. Officers then saw a man get into the vehicle and take off northbound on S 27th Street at a high rate of speed while weaving in the roadway. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, 44 year old Tyler Kaulins who showed signs of being impaired. Kaulins was then given and failed a field sobriety test and was taken to The Bridge. His blood alcohol content was .296, more than three times the legal limit.
The vehicle also had damage that matched that of the hit-and-run on August 6th.
Kaulins was booked for leaving the scene of an injury accident and driving under the influence.
