Lincoln Police cite a man for felony theft by deception in a case dating back to February 27th. An employee at a Liberty First Credit Union branch reported that a check had been cashed by 40 year old Antwon Williams for $2,500 that was suspicious. The bank contacted the family of the account holder, an 83 year old woman who reported that the check had not been authorized.

Investigators also learned the woman had ordered checks that were never delivered and presumed stolen.

After analyzing bank records, they learned that about five checks had been passed between February 23rnd and March 9th. In three cases Williams was able to pass the checks for a total of $3,425. He attempted to cash two other checks for a total of $3,900 but was denied.

On August,11th and 2:45 p.m., Williams was cited for felony theft by deception. Investigators contacted Williams at the Nebraska State Penitentiary where is is currently incarcerated.
