Lincoln Police were called to the 1300 block of N. 54th Street around 11 a.m. on Sunday to investigate a burglary. A couple reported they were in the bedroom and heard the back door open. They saw a man in the living room holding the woman’s purse. He took off running and a neighbor reported seeing the man going through the bag on their back steps.

Officers searched the area and found a man matching the description behind Ken’s Kegs at 1360 N. 48th Street. The victims then identified the man as the person responsible. The man had some of the victim’s belongings. Officers also found a 12 pack of Southern Comfort shooter bottles. They learned the man had been inside the liquor store and the clerk reported the alcohol had been stolen.

As officers searched the area, a neighbor reported seeing the man trespassing on his property and he then entered the victim’s yard. Another neighbor reported that while he was in his bedroom, he heard a loud bang. He went to investigate and saw a man standing in his living room. The back door had been kicked in and damaged but nothing was missing.

28 year old Baron Collier was booked for burglary, criminal mischief, shoplifting and two counts of trespassing. Collier is also a suspect in a robbery that happened July 22nd at the NP Mart at 28th and O Street.
