Couple Wake Up To Intruder Inside Home

By Karla James Jul 28, 2021 | 11:28 AM

Just before 3 a.m. on July 24th, police were called to the 1900 block of Groveland to investigate a burglary. Officers spoke to a 23 year old man and woman who were woken up to the sound of someone inside their home. They saw a man inside the home who then threatened to shoot them. The man took off running after taking a wallet, car keys and a cell phone.

The man used the car keys to enter the victim’s vehicle that was parked inside the garage. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

The couple went to a neighbor’s house to call police. They found the woman’s garage and truck had been broken into and rummaged through. The suspect was able to open the victim’s garage door using the opener that was inside the truck parked in the driveway. The neighbor reported missing a number of tools that had been inside the truck.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to all Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
