At 11 p.m., officers were called to the 4300 block of Baldwin after shots were fired into a residence. Several people reported they were inside the home and heard gunshots and saw the bullets enter the home. During a search, officers found a 9mm handgun under the front passenger seat where 22 year old Dontaiven Drappeaux had been seated. As officers approached Drappeaux about the gun, he took off running. After a short foot chase he was taken into custody and booked for carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing a police officer.

The casings were taken to the state lab and it was determined they were fired from the gun located in the vehicle. On July 23rd, investigators contacted Drappeaux around 6 p.m. at his home.
