Westlake ACE Hardware recently hosted a fan drive to benefit The Salvation Army and Lincoln customers generously donated $7,275 to purchase over 500 new box fans to help their fellow citizens beat the heat.
The Salvation Army will receive the fans this afternoon at 2 pm at the Vine Street location, 4545 Vine Street.
Rising temperatures can quickly deplete The Salvation Army’s fan supply and with summer in full swing, their work of distributing fans is far from over. During the fan drive, Westlake customers were asked to donate by rounding up their purchases at the register. Nationwide, $110,000 was donated.
