An arrest is made in the hit-and-run injury of a 21 year old woman on July 3rd near 5th and W Dawes. Officers received information that a person had been struck and left the scene. Officers later determined the same vehicle hit another vehicle when leaving the scene. LFR responded and gave aid to the victim. She went to the hospital the next day with serious injuries. Officers spoke to witnesses and collected evidence and video from the scene.

On Monday, July 5th, 22 year old Isabel Knapp-Cuevas contacted Lincoln Police to report she may have been involved in an accident. Officers went to her home and she was interviewed. They also collected evidence from her vehicle.

Over the next few days, officers spoke to witnesses and analyzed the evidence to verify that Knapp-Cuevas’ vehicle was involved and she was the driver. They developed probable cause and she was taken into custody late Thursday morning. Knapp-Cuevas was booked for leaving the scene of an injury accident, a felony, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving under revocation, no vehicle registration, expired in-transit stickers, and a stop sign violation.
