Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to an apartment complex at 4721 Briar Park Drive around 8:30 Monday night and found a deck on fire.
LFR’s Nancy Crist says the flames did not spread to the inside of the apartment, which is near 48th and Old Cheney Road. Firefighters rescued a dog and cat from the house.
She says the cause was either a firework or a poorly extinguished cigarette, both of which they found remains of on the deck. Damage is estimated at $30-thousand.
