Nebraska adds Auburn to non-conference schedule in Holiday Hoopsgiving

Another road trip for Nebraska men’s basketball has been added to the 2021-22 non-conference schedule.

Already slated to head to North Carolina State December 1 for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Huskers will play at the State Farm Center in Atlanta on Saturday, December 11, against Auburn. The 2021 Holiday Hoopsgiving will feature a quadruple-header that also includes Georgia Tech vs. LSU, Ole Miss vs. Western Kentucky and Clemson vs. an opponent to be determined.

Tip times and television designations will be announced at a later date.

“This is a great opportunity for our program to play a potential top-25 team in an NBA arena,” Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg said. “Auburn has been one of the best programs in the SEC in recent seasons under Bruce Pearl, and they will in contention again this year. The Holiday Hoopsgiving event will a marquee showcase for our team, and I think our players and staff will look forward to the challenge.”

Auburn is receiving some preseason hype, including a top-25 nod from Gary Parrish of CBS in his most recent Top 25-and=1 rankings released last week.

The two programs have never met, marking the second opponent for Nebraska that will be a first-time matchup (NC State).
