Lincoln Public Schools is looking for feedback from parents on the 2021-22 Safe Return To School Plan. The district worked with the Lincoln – Lancaster County health Department and other health organizations in developing the proposal.
Face coverings would be optional for staff who have been fully vaccinated but would be required for those not fully vaccinated. They are strongly recommended for students not fully vaccinated. Federal regulations require masks to be worn at all times on school buses.
Those not vaccinated and have a close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual could return to work or school after 10 days or 7 days if they have a negative test. If there are symptoms after the close contact, a 14 day quarantine would be be needed even if they test negative. Other safety protocols will remain in place that include hand sanitizer available throughout the school and social distancing of 3 to 6 feet where possible.
Meals will be somewhat regulated for elementary students and they will be assigned tabled and meals will be in individual containers. High schools and middle schools will return to normal practices for meals.
LPS is asking for feedback from the public on their proposed plan through July 9th. The final plan will be posted on July 15th.You can see the entire plan by clicking here.
