Lincoln Police got a call about gunshots being fired inside an apartment building in the 200 block of Adams around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

Officer Erin Spilker says when officers arrived they found the windows in the common areas were broken out and smoke in the air.  When they searched the building, officers found a 6-inch by 18-inch-deep hole on the floor of the hallway.   Residents were contacted and officers learned that an explosive had been thrown into the hallway during a fued between two neighbors.

“The explosive that caused the damage was homemade and equivalent to a half a stick of dynamite,” Spilker says.  The explosion caused hundreds of dollars in damage.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
