Three men from Houston, Texas are behind bars in Lincoln after police say they broke into the Best Buy at 69th and O Street around 1:30 Wednesday morning.  Officer Erin Spilker says witnesses reported seeing people banging on the doors and carrying something in their hands.

When officers arrived, they found a 2016 white Mercedes unoccupied in the lot and heard a loud noise coming from the front of the business.  Officers saw a man exit the store and attempted to run from officers.  He was taken into custody a short distance later.

An officer saw another man try to leave the store through an emergency exit but then ran back into the business.  Officers were able to surround the business and eventually take two more men into custody from inside the store.  Spilker says the front door was heavily damaged and the metal security gate was cut with a saw.

Officers found several iPad, iPhone, MacBook and other apple products stacked up near the exit to be removed from the store.  The men were identified as 20-year-old Reginald Thomas, 20-year-old Gary Simmons II and 21-year-old Devin Drake.

Inside the vehicle in the parking lot officers found a saw that was used to cut the security gate.  All three men were arrested for Burglary and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.  Damage to the store is estimated at $7,000.
