Lincoln Police spotted a man driving with a suspended license at 7:45 Friday morning near 15th and E Street and did a traffic stop. Following a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers found a loaded .40 caliber “ghost gun” under the front driver’s seat and drug paraphernalia.

That lead to a search of 18 year old Kobe Phillip-Amerson’s home where officers found 528 grams of marijuana, multiple calibers of ammunition and gun parts. He was cited for carrying a concealed weapon and driving on a suspended license. Phillip-Amerson was then transported to the Saline County Jail for a federal warrant.

Ghost guns are unregulated and untraceable firearms. They do not have a serial number. They can be assembled by individuals using parts or kits requiring additional minor drilling and assembly. One investigation reports that 30% of all guns recovered by law enforcement in California do not have a serial number and can not be traced.
