Lincoln Police were called to Lincoln Winair at 609 Van Dorn around 3:20 Friday morning to investigate a burglar alarm. The owner told officers that someone was removing pieces of copper from old air conditioner parts from their scrap yard.

Officers set up a perimeter around the business and areas nearby. During a search, officers found 50 year old Benjamin Temple hiding behind brush that borders the rear of the business. Officers continued to search the area and found a Ford F-150 pickup with a piece of air conditioning equipment and pieces of copper in the bed. The vehicle was insured by Temple. Police were also able to obtain video surveillance from the business that shows Temple arriving in that truck.

The total amount of copper taken is estimated at $1,350.

Temple was booked for felony burglary.
