A 36 year old man is facing charges after Lincoln Police were called to the 100 block of Trenridge Way around 1 a.m. on June 1st to investigate a disturbance. Officers spoke with a 23 year old man who said he and his girlfriend had left their apartment to do laundry. They heard another tenant, Calvin Smith yelling at them about their dogs being loud.

The 23 year old man said Smith was in the stairwell of the apartment complex and showed a knife. That was followed by a physical altercation where the victim tried to get away but was put in a choke-hold.  Smith then showed the knife again and threatened to kill the man and his girlfriend.

The victim was able to get away from Smith who continued with threats.

Smith was taken into custody and booked for terroristic threats, assault and disturbing hte peace. The victim had injuries consistent with the altercation but did not require medical attention.
