Lincoln Police stopped a 2006 BMW SUV around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19th at Park and Van Dorn after seeing it make several improper turns. Officers then spoke with the driver who was unable to provide identification. Officers also spotted a plastic bag with a large amount of money on the passenger seat. The driver allowed the officer to search his person and several bullets were found.

The officer was able to identify the man as 47 year old Patrick Godin Jr. He did not have a driver’s license and due to a previous felony conviction, Godin was prohibited from possessing ammunition. The officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located 3 pill bottles prescribed to another individual containing Trazadone, Venlafaxine, and Hydrochlorothiazide pills inside a bag in the vehicle.

Officers also found a concealed loaded 9 mm Glock handgun in the radiator of the vehicle. The gun had been reported stolen on April 14th from 47th and Lowell Avenue.

The dollar amount in the baggie totaled $6,000.

Godin was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of legend drugs, no drivers license and on traffic offenses.
