A group gathering for a barbecue in the 2600 block of North 43rd Street called police around 9:40 p.m. Friday, May 14th to report gunfire. Police spoke with a woman who said she was attending the cookout with friends and neighbors when they heard several “pops”.
The woman felt something graze her hand and then saw a small abrasion about 1/8″ long on her index finger. Officers searched the area and spoke with witnesses who also thought they heard possible gunshots.
Officers did find a single shell casing in the area. That investigation continues.
