Seward County authorities say a bus carrying the Lincoln Pius X girls soccer team was hit by a mini van on I-80 near mile marker 388 around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon. The team was headed to North Platte for a game.
None of the students were seriously injured. Both drivers went to Bryan West in Lincoln for treatment. The sheriff’s department says the 62 year man driving the van is from California and a former law enforcement officer.
Investigators say he was found in possession of $570-thousand in suspected drug money. The investigation is continuing.
