Densberger, Sweet won’t play extra season at Nebraska

Two Nebraska volleyball seniors won’t be returning to play an extra season this fall.

Hayley Densberger and Jazz Sweet have finished their careers at NU. Both do have the option of playing elsewhere if they still wish to use that extra season.

Desnberger said on social media she is thankful for the support during her time in Lincoln.

“The memories I have made and lessons I have learned each and every day are truly a blessing that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Densberger said.

The NCAA granted all student-athletes in spring 2020, fall 2020, and winter 2020-21 sports an extra season of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting seasons.

All-Americans Lauren Stivrins and Lexi Sun have yet to have their plans for the fall released. The two have combined for five AVCA All-America selections, and will have a plethora of options to play both professionally and at other schools.
