…FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING… .
Sub-freezing temperatures are possible with a low near 28 across portions of east central and southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
A winter weather advisory is in effect tonight over portions of southeast Nebraska. As of now, accumulations of 2 to 4 inches appear possible. .
