A woman is facing several charges after a disturbance at 10th and C Street Friday afternoon. Officers were informed that she was trying to break into a home by throwing things at the building and was heard screaming.
Officers arrived and found 41 year old Anayo Erving outside and witnessed her throw a brick through a window. She was taken into custody but continued to yell and kicked an officer several times in the legs. The officer suffered bruising and cuts but did not require treatment.
Erving was arrested for assault on a police officer, vandalism and disturbing the peace. Damage to the home is estimated at $750. The homeowner and Erving knew one another and earlier had been involved in a disturbance.
