Omaha Man Sentenced for Misappropriating Postal Funds

By News Apr 2, 2021 | 10:58 AM

A 44 year old Omaha man has been sentenced in federal court for the misappropriation of postal funds.  Senior United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon sentenced Cameron Hogan on Friday to 5 years of probation. Hogan will be required to pay $13,595 in restitution.

In 2020, federal agents began investigating financial irregularities reported at the West Omaha Postal Service Station.  At the time of the investigation, Hogan was employed as a Lead Sales and Services Associate. Agents reviewed sale activity reports and observed that Hogan had processed an excessive number of refunds and no sales and voided transactions. When interviewed, Hogan admitted to issuing fraudulent refunds and voided transactions and taking the funds for his own use.

This case was investigated by the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General.
