Lincoln Police officers were flagged down at 11th and G Street just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31st by a man reporting an assault.  Officers were led to an apartment where they found a 59 year old man with a cut to his neck and 37 year old Grady Mabry Jr.

Officers saw the apartment was in disarray with furniture overturned and items thrown about.  The victim told police tha Mabry came to his home and knocked on the door.  When he opened the door he saw Mabry standing there holding a knife.  Mabry started swinging the knife at the victim who tried to block it.  A struggle then started over the knife.  The victim said Mabry held the knife to his neck and threatened to kill him.  Mabry then demanded money and started rummaging through the home.

Officers saw the victim had facial injuries and others from defending himself.  He also had a small cut to his neck.

As officers were taking Mabry into custody, he dropped a glass pipe with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine.  Officer retrieved a knife in the apartment in the area where the assault took place.

Mabry was arrested for Robbery, 2nd Degree Assault, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
