On November 28th, , just after 1a.m., , an officer contacted a 15-year-old female in Oak Lake Park after a vehicle fled from the area at a high rate of speed.  The female disclosed being picked up by a male who brought her to the park where they engaged in sex.  She was told the man was 17 years old however officers learned he was actually 25 years old.  Investigators confirmed the man’s identity as Ahmed Baqli through cell phone records and a photo lineup with the victim.

On March 22nd around 2:30 a.m., officer observed a white 2004 Toyota Solara in the area of Antelope Valley Parkway and P Street in the lane next to the officer.  The driver made eye contact with the officer, then revved the engine and took off at a high rate of speed estimated over 60 mph.  The vehicle swerved over lanes of traffic and took an abrupt turn onto Vine Street.  The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was upset at being stopped.

The driver did not have any identification or paperwork for the vehicle.  The driver identified himself as Baqli and officers determined he was under the influence of narcotics.  Officers located a small bag of cocaine,  and a concealed knife with knuckles cut outs for the handle, or brass knuckles, near his ankle.  The cocaine field tested positive.  Ahmed was ultimately arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, DUI, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Reckless Driving, and No proof of ownership for vehicle.

Bagli was interviewed by an investigator while still in the Lancaster County Jail on March 30th reference the sex assault investigation.  He was then arrested for 1st Degree Sexual Assault.
