Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to the report of a fire at 5040 Myrtle Street at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, March 22nd..
Firefighters saw smoke coming from the single story home when they arrived. The fire was located in the kitchen area and it was contained.
It was determined the fire was caused by a stove burner left on that ignited combustibles around the stove. The damage to the home is estimated at $60,000 with and another $15,000 in damage to the contents. The resident was displaced from that home but has another place to stay.
All the resident made it out of the home and there were no injuries reported. LFR reports there were smoke detectors that alerted those inside of the fire.
