Governor Pete Ricketts announces that Nebraska will move to the next phase of COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday. Phase 2-A will focus on residents age 50 to 64 years of age and those with certain underlying health conditions. This is a statewide change in vaccination protocol. In previous phases local health districts made the decision on who is vaccinated.

Under the new phase, 90% of the vaccine will go to those 50 to 64 and to those previously had qualified in Phase 1-A and 2-A and 10% will go to those with health conditions. Local physicians and health officials will determine what conditions qualify. Health officials are wrapping up Phase A-2 that included those 65 and older with 71% of that population vaccinated.

Governor Ricketts says Phase 1-C will start on March 29th and that includes the once dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Nebraska

More than 690,000 doses of the vaccine have been given in Nebraska. The busiest day was Thursday when 22,253 vaccines were administered, setting a record vaccination number.
