The Lincoln Police Department is continuing its investigation into the homicide of 33-year-old James Shekie of Lincoln.
On March 10, 2021, law enforcement officers arrested 25-year-old Deontae C. Rush for First Degree Murder. Rush was located in Chicago by the U.S. Marshals Service..
On Monday, March 1, 2021, at approximately 11:09 a.m., LPD officers responded to a call for service to check an open door in the 4200 block of North 20th Street. Officers found James in the residence, deceased from a gunshot wound.
On Thursday, March 4, 2021, LPD investigators arrested 25 year old Marques L. Moten and his 17 year old sister for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
