On Tuesday March 2nd, the Fugitive Task Force requested the assistance of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Unit at a residence in the 2800 block of N Street at 11:30 a.m.

They had been at the residence looking for 32-year-old Cottie Mills who was wanted on several outstanding warrants.  While inside the residence, they observed a psilocybin mushroom grow operation, drugs, and paraphernalia.  37 year old Elanor McNeil is the known tenant of the apartment and was also present at the time.

Investigators arrived to assist and ultimately served a search warrant of the residence at 3 p.m.   Investigators located components of a pipe bomb in the living room.  Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to assist and to take possession of the explosives’.  One of the explosives that had a fuse attached was determined to be a Class M explosive.

Investigators located 81 jars with mushrooms growing in them and the materials for a grow operation.  They also located 52.8 grams of dried psilocybin mushrooms and glass pipes that tested positive for methamphetamine residue.

Mills and McNeil were arrested for Manufacture Psilocybin Mushrooms, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Destructive Device.
