A 56 year old man is recovering from a head injury after being rushed to a hospital following an assault on Monday, February 8th before 1 a.m.

The man was at 18th and A when officers arrived.  They spoke with a Z-Trip driver who stated the man flagged him down while carrying grocers.  When he got into the vehicle he collapsed on the ground.   The man reported that someone he knw had punched him while in the area of 11th and N Street earlier in the day.  He was rushed to a hospital with a serious head injury.  At this time the injury is not considered life threatening but he was taken into surgery.
