Lincoln Police were called to Super Saver at 26th and Cornhusker Highway at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th to investigate a trespassing call. The manager told police that four people were loitering around the store and refused to leave.
Officers contacted one of the suspects, 36 year old Michael Avidano who was in the bathroom. Officers say he appeared to be intoxicated and was consuming alcohol. Residue from one of the pipes field tested positive for methamphetamine.
The officer checked with the police information channel and learned that Avidano was a registered sex offender and had failed to register and was flagged as an absconder.
Avidano was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Sex Offender Registry Violation, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
