A look at what’s happened in Huskers athletics over the past week.

No. 5 Nebraska volleyball began the season with sweeps over Indiana Friday and Saturday. Earlier in the week, Big Ten coaches voted the Huskers third in the preseason poll. They also selected Lauren Stivrins and Lexi Sun to Preseason All-Big Ten team. Start times and television coverage for most of the season was announced Tuesday.

Nebraska football is planning to hold the Red-White Spring Game May 1.

Pro Big Red football: Three former Huskers are set to play in the Super Bowl. Ndamukong Suh, Lavonte David, and Khalil Davis helped the Buccaneers to an NFC Championship win over the Packers. Tampa Bay will meet Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.

Nebraska men’s basketball has postponed the game against Penn State.

Nebraska women’s basketball struggled in the second half against Minnesota, suffering the first home loss of the season 76-71 Tuesday.

Nebraska track & field met several Big Ten foes in Iowa Friday and Saturday. Six of the top eight spots in women’s long jump went to the Huskers. Kevin Shubert (shot put) and Michael Hoffer (high jump) won events for the second consecutive week. Teams were not scored for the meet.

No. 7 Nebraska wrestling beat both Northwestern (26-10) and Maryland (36-0) in a Saturday triangular at the Devaney Center.

Nebraska women’s gymnastics squeaked out a 195.250-195.100 win at Penn State Saturday.

Nebraska men’s gymnastics had their Sunday meet with Michigan canceled due to an athletic department shutdown for the Wolverines due to the new coronavirus strain.

Nebraska swimming and diving fell in the home opener to Illinois 164-136.

Nebraska bowling finished in fourth at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite Sunday.

No. 8 Nebraska rifle lost at No. 1 Kentucky 4734-3695. The Huskers turned around and beat North Carolina State 4694-4676.
