An arrest is made in a shots fired call that injured two men on January 17th around 1:30 am, in the 1300 block of S 10th Street.

The caller reported that there was a large group of people in the street and believed the shots came from that area.  When officers arrived, they located a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg and they immediately began to administer first aid until medical units arrived.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital by Lincoln Fire and Rescue.  As officers were arriving at the hospital with the victim, they were notified that another victim, a 20-year-old man, had been dropped off at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers at the scene contacted people who indicated they were having a small gathering at their home in the 1300 block of S 10th Street when an unknown man arrived and caused a disturbance.  The homeowner then ended the party and kicked everyone out and shortly after she heard gunshots.  The victims reported being hit by gunfire after hearing an argument among the group of people outside the house.

Officers processed the scene for evidence, canvassed the area, and conducted several interviews with potential witnesses.  Both victims were treated at the hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were able to identify 28 year old Christopher Johnson as the person responsible for the shooting after speaking with several witnesses and analyzing digital and forensic evidence.  On January 22nd around 7:30 pm, Johnson was taken into custody without incident from his home.  Johnson was arrested for two counts of 2nd Degree Assault, Discharge a Firearm near a building, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
