It didn’t take long for No. 5 Nebraska wrestling to make a statement this season.
“The more all you guys keep doing things to love each other, this team’s gonna do this,” coach Mark Manning told his team after a 22-14 win over No. 12 Minnesota Friday. “People are gonna be jealous because we’ve got something special here.”
The Huskers got a pin from Mikey Labriola (174 pounds) and decisions from Liam Cronin (125 pounds), Chad Red Jr. (141 pounds), Brock Hardy (149 pounds), and Nathan Haas (184 pounds). Eric Schultz (197 pounds) dominated his match for a 14-3 major decision.
The first road trip is Friday at No. 1 Iowa.
