Lincoln Police were called to Walmart at 3400 North 85th on December 24th at 4:44 p.m. after employees reported to police a man was waving a machete around and threatening people inside. 36 year old Jeremiah Coleman was found inside the store and police say he was apparently upset about not receiving a receipt for the machete he had just purchased.
Coleman became aggressive toward an employee and threatened to beat them and then kill them while he was holding the machete.
Several officers arrived and started the negotiation process with Coleman that lasted about 40 minutes. Officers eventually took Coleman into custody without any injuries.
Coleman was found to be a felon and was arrested for Terroristic Threats, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person.
