The Nebraska Department of Labor has released unemployment claim statistics for the week of December 6 – December 12.
2,514 Nebraskans fined for new unemployment benefits for the week ending December 12th, down 361 from the week before. New pandemic claims dropped by 116.
Regular unemployment claims came in at 11,017, a drop of 286 from the week before. Regular pandemic claims were also lower at 6.029, down from more than 77-hundred for the week ending December 5th.
CARES Act benefit programs including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) are scheduled to expire December 26.
