A Lincoln Police officer and Nebraska State Patrol trooper are both recovering after being injured in a disturbance on December 3rd at the U-Stop at 71st and Pioneers Blvd.  The officer and trooper were both released from a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The LPD officer will be off work until he recovers from injuries.

Police were called to the U-Stop at 8 a.m. after an employee reported that a man came into the store demanding she put $5 of gas in his car and yelled at her and customers.  Another employee said the man was yelling at people in the parking lot so she went out to tell him to leave.  The man followed her inside and walked behind the counter.  Both employees were cornered behind the counter by the man who was yelling at them.  He grabbed a box of cigars and walked out the door without paying for them

29 year old Conner Sweeney  was arrested for 2 counts of Assault on a Police Officer with Motor Vehicle, felony Criminal Mischief, and Robbery.    He is also a suspect in disturbances and thefts at more than a half-dozen other convenience stores that same day.
