Lincoln Police were called to 27th and Tierra Drive at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3rd to investigate a report of a silver vehicle parked in the road with a man trying to wave people down. Officers found the Pontiac Grand Prix and the driver who provided officers with a fake name. Police were able to eventually identify the man as 25 year old Gabriel Kuhfahl. who had an arrest warrant for carrying a concealed weapon.
As officers made sure Kuhfahl understood why he was being arrested he took off running south into an area of trees. Officers gave chase and when they caught up with Kuhfahl, he turned around and with his elbow struck an officer in the face. A short time later, Kuhfahl fell to the ground and officers tried to take him into custody. Kuhfahl resisted and put his hands behind his back and pulled away. After a struggle, Kuhfahl was taken into custody and booked on the outstanding warrant, assault on a police officer, providing false information to an officer and resisting arrest.
The officer suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
