A Lincoln High student who graduated in 1955 shares the 2020 Nobel Prize for Economics.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced Robert Wilson won the top prize for improvements to auction theory and inventions of new auction formats.

Wilson is a professor at Stanford University.

The Academy said he helped develop new formats for auctioning many interrelated objects on behalf of a seller motivated by doing good for society rather than by achieving the highest price. Wilson shares the prize with his colleague Paul Milgrom.
